Ground Rules
1. Loaning a key to a non-member will result in immediate expulsion and a $400 fine.
2. Intoxicating beverages shall not be provided by the club.
3. No permanent improvements may be made on club grounds without board approval.
4. All vehicles, including motorcycles and ATVs must remain on the main roads when on club grounds.
5. The speed limit on club roads is 15 MPH, except when working.
6. The use of gasoline powered outboard motors on club premises shall be prohibited except by special permission of the board of directors.
7. Fishing in the Club waters shall be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, and shall be limited to pole and line fishing only, and shall be limited to not more than two poles per person. Current fish limits shall be posted at the front and back gates with any site specific limits posted at the site.
8. No one over the age of 16 can fish in the kids’ fishing pond unless they are helping someone under 16 fish.
9. Swimming is allowed in the Mallard Beach area only. Rules and state regulations are posted and must be followed. No boating or fishing in the swimming area. No bottles or cans in the water or on the raft. No fires in the beach area. No dogs in the beach area.
10. All dogs must be kept on a leash while in camping and picnic areas.
11. The fine for littering is $100.
12. Shooting Range – No target practice off the range. Targets on the range must
be kept below the top of the tire backstop. NO GLASS TARGETS.
From October 1st through January 31st, the range can only be used during the middle of the day (11 a.m.-2 p.m.), provided no one is hunting in the area.
Clean-up Rule: Anyone using the shooting or bow range is responsible for keeping it clean. You will clean it before you start using it and after you finish. If you are using the range and someone else’s trash is there, you are responsible. The fine for littering is $100.
13. Camping – Camping limitations are 2 weeks per month or 3 weekends a month (17-day max) with a 4-day interval between consecutive stays, no matter how many days you camp. If campers are not removed from the club when not in use, they must be stored in the designated storage area. All campers on club grounds must have either the member’s name OR the member’s club key number attached.
All campers on club grounds must have a current license sticker.
No camping within 300 ft of the swimming area or within 20 ft of any shelter or dock.
Camping rules will be enforced as follows:
Campers will receive one warning.
If the violation is not corrected within 7 days or, if it is the second violation of the season,
they will lose their camping privileges for 1 year from date of violation.
All campers or tents must be signed in and out from each campsite at the hunter sign-in shed.
During waterfowl seasons, camping is only allowed south of Mallard Beach, or at Oley’s campsite.
Guest campers cannot stay more than 3 times per year total including the hog roast and other club events.
14. All persons hunting on club grounds must sign in at the hunter sign-in shed.
Waterfowl hunting will not be allowed from Friday thru Monday of Labor Day weekend.
Portable tree stands only – nothing permanent. Strap-on steps or ladders only, screw-in steps are not allowed.
Only Hook & Bullet Club members will be allowed to hunt deer and turkey. Guests are not allowed.
You may only take one buck per deer archery season.
Your name and key number must be attached to your tree stand or ground blind.
Stands can be placed beginning August 1, and must be removed by March 1.
15. Any non-member who is a guest shall only be a guest a total of three times each year, including the hog roast and other club events. When a club member brings a guest (or guests) in to hunt or fish on Club grounds, the guest’s catch is to be counted as part of the membership limit, not as another separate unit.
